Kindred Culture is a dance organization that supports charitable organizations and provides a safe space for people to express themselves.
As the Community Team Lead for Kindred Culture, I lead a team that organizes free events, drop-in classes and dance workshops at the studio for dancers and non-dancers in our community.

We host a lot of workshops throughout the year—some for charity and others just to enjoy dance with our community. This end-of-year workshop was taught by industry professionals and brought people together one last time before the holiday break to celebrate the dancing we got to experience throughout the year.

The goal here was really to open our doors to other dancers outside of our local community and provide a space to share and exchange in our movement.
This was the first open freestyle event hosted at Kindred Culture. We were able to welcome a dynamic group of dancers to our studio that night which led us to host Community Moves 2.0 the next year.

Community drop-in was a chance to reach out to people outside of our community and give them an opportunity to teach a class at our studio.
Community classes always brought amazing energy and people to our studios that normally wouldn't get a chance to teach.
